Mercury retrograde

Who Loves Kitty

From the earth, it looks like Mercury is traveling backwards.  Back in the day, when the earth was thought to be the center of the universe, that’s what they thought it was doing.

Today, we all know that Mercury doesn’t travel backwards.  However, it still withdraws its normally-outward energies inward, inverting them, and some would say, perverting them.

Meh.

I was born during such a time, so I’m under no obligation to make sense.  But those who follow astrology like I do will likely sense the difference, the disturbance in the Force, in ways we can feel but I can’t explain further.

So yeah.  Mercury.

When he’s going backwards, even if by geocentric optical illusion only, he pulls shenanigans.  He messes up All Things Communication, the sending and receiving of messages.  Messages of any type.

This includes (but isn’t limited to):

  • Person-to-person communication
  • Person-to-entity communication (such as a utility company)

Like so many people, I am a paradox. I am a politically conservative vegetarian. I am from a Christian background, and still tend to like those values, but am a metaphysical astrologer trained in science who has an interest in the magic of ancient Egypt and a weird belief that some piece of our essence can live on a server. I live in Texas, but like chatting with my international Wordpress pals the best. I learn by teaching. Technically, I am a "Leo," but I am very, very Aquarian with a dose of Scorpio. I bitterly complain about Algol (and Algol personaliites), yet it is the one star that defines me most (other than Regulus). (Which, oddly, makes me an Algol personality.) I am a reclusive lover of peace and quiet who has the Ascendant in the Via Combusta (the most conflict ridden part of the zodiac). I am an incredibly private person with a blog with over 800 followers and 50 to 150 regular daily visitors. I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

  1. Well NO WONDER this has been such a hateful week tech-wise!

The WordPress.com Gremlins usually force a work-around or two every time they break something else in their “improvement” attempts – but this week more than a few bubbles under plastic had to be worked around!

Today’s article, for example, took SIX hours out of my life to get everything working properly online (*after* the post had been drafted, btw). Since it was the final post of a week-long collaboration, I didn’t feel like I could simply walk away and post something else instead. ::sheesh::

      1. Every yes means saying many nos – but I don’t think of it as sacrifice as much as prioritizing and discernment. I am sad sometimes not “to travel both and bebe one traveler” – but the word sacrifice has a connotation that complicates decision-making unnecessarily (for me).
